Ernestine Block Grigsby, Colorado, served as Fraternity president from 1936-1940 and Chairman of National Panhellenic Conference from 1959-1961. She demonstrated long-time loyalty to Tri Delta and to the fraternal world as an alumna. For the past 26 years, Tri Delta's Executive Board has presented the Ernestine Block Grigsby Award to alumnae who show continuous support to Tri Delta on the local level. Alumnae chapters are encouraged to nominate members who, through their loyalty and devotion to Tri Delta, have shown outstanding service to their alumnae chapters.
This year's recipient is alumna advisor to Phi Lambda at Texas Christian University, Jineen McIver Bessire, Texas Christian. A dedicated member of the Fort Worth, Texas Alumnae Chapter since 1986, Jineen has served the chapter in a number of capacities, including recording secretary, social chairman, hostess chairman and Panhellenic representative, among many others. “I am the luckiest woman in the world to get to work with the collegiate and the alumna chapters, and I'm very humbled by that,” Jineen says. “It's something that's easy to put your heart and soul into, and the rewards are constant for me. In my work with the TCU chapter, I feel like I am making a difference every day, and I have fun doing it. That is truly a gift." |
