Endow Now

Endow Now is a program set forth to ensure an endowed scholarship exists at every Tri Delta collegiate chapter.

What's an endowment?

An endowment refers to a sum of money that an institution sets aside and invests for financial gain. The yearly earnings from the endowment are then used as funding for a specific purpose. In the case of the Foundation's Endow Now program, the purpose is scholarships.

Chapters with endowed scholarships:

Alabama, Arkansas, California/Davis, California/Los Angeles, Central Florida, Centre, Florida State, Illinois, Louisiana State, Michigan, Millikin, Mississippi, Nebraska, Northern Virginia, Oregon, Oregon State, Purdue, Richmond, Southern California, Southern Methodist, Tennessee, Texas Christian, Vanderbilt

Scholarship Awards

Once your chapter's scholarship is fully endowed, it may be eligible to award. The Foundation will handle the application and selection process of this scholarship. The larger your chapter endowment, the more scholarships will be available each year for your chapter sisters!

Get Started

If you would like to start your chapter's endowed scholarship, please call Cile Jolly at 817-633-8001. If you would like to make a contribution to an endowment, please click here
, select "Scholarships" and specify in the "Other" box.

The Trilogy

Friendship. Sisterhood. Service.

Three means many things to Tri Deltas. What does three mean to the Foundation?

The Trilogy

What's The Trilogy & how do I join?

The Trilogy is a program set forth to help our sisters in need by raising $500,000 over the course of three years. As of May 10, 2013, we've received $322,039 in donations and pledges.

Join The Trilogy now! Please call 817-633-8001, email or mail in a pledge form.

What does The Trilogy Support?

The Trilogy is board-discretionary endowed fund to help meet the most pressing, current demands of our sisters in three areas:

1- Scholarships:

Tri Delta collegiate members may apply for scholarships, completely funded by the Tri Delta Foundation donors. Next year, we will grant 45 undergraduate and 14 graduate scholarships. With nearly 200 applicants, more than 70% of applicants are denied. We would like to better meet the needs of more of our sisters! To learn more about scholarships, click here.

2- Collegiate Crescent & Crescent Funds:

The Collegiate Crescent Fund provides emergency assistance to collegiate Tri Deltas facing unforeseen financial crisis that might force them to withdraw from school. Similarly, Tri Delta alumnae in dire need may apply for financial assistance with medical costs, food, and housing through the Crescent Fund. This year, we've provided more than $122,000 in assistance to our sisters. To learn more, click here.

3- Fraternity Education Grants:

All Tri Delta sisters should be given the opportunity to achieve their potential as leaders and volunteers as well as learn to deal with college-life challenges. Fraternity education grants allow for this by helping fund educational programming at a variety of Fraternity conferences and events including $105,000 for Volunteer Symposium 2011.

The Trilogy Allocation

The goal of The Trilogy is to create a $500,000 board-discretionary endowment to give back to our sisters through scholarships, Collegiate Crescent and Crescent Funds, and Fraternity education grants. The Trilogy will allow the Foundation to better meet the overwhelming demands of our own sisters. The Trilogy is a program of the Foundation.

Collegiate Crescent Fund Grant Keeps Sister on Track http://www.tridelta.org/foundation/splash_laurendennen

Though she was forced to delay school for a bit after her initial surgeries, Lauren says a Collegiate Crescent Fund Grant from the Tri Delta Foundation has helped keep her on track.

content-dotted-line.png

LaurenDennen_pearlsis.JPGHeadaches are probably nothing unusual for the typical college student, but the pain Lauren D., Eastern Illinois, felt upon waking one morning in September 2008 was something different. "It was concentrated in the lower back region of my head," she says, noting that the pain was very intense. She went to the student health center only to be told it was a tension headache.

With a prescription headache reliever, Lauren was able to numb the pain, though it never really went away. A few months later, noting the pain was still there, her mother insisted she go to her regular physician. On New Year's Eve 2008, she found out it was a cyst growing on her skull. A surgery was scheduled to remove it.

Less than a week later, however, the cyst was leaking and it was determined she had an infection. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the cyst, once thought to be growing on top of her skull, and actually grown into her skull as well. In January 2009, when most students are getting ready to go back to school from winter break, Lauren underwent her first surgery: a cranioplasty to remove the portion of her skull that contained the infected cyst. After the surgery, Lauren was outfitted with a PIC line in her arm, a semi-permanent IV to pump her full of antibiotics for about a month.

After the infection had cleared, Lauren soon had her second surgery, to place a plate in the area where the skull and cyst were removed. This should have been the end of it, but over the summer, Lauren started feeling pain again. She woke up one morning to a familiar leaking and went to the ER. The neurosurgeon there determined she had another infection, and the plate she'd had inserted needed to be removed to let the infection heal. She was on oral antibiotics for more than two months.

At just 21-years-old, Lauren has been through much more than the average college student, yet her goal through it all is to remain just that: the normal college student. Though she was forced to delay school for a bit after her initial surgeries, she says a Collegiate Crescent Fund Grant from the Tri Delta Foundation has helped keep her on track.

The grant gave me an extra boost, a reminder that even though I went through all of this, I can still be successful and continue with my plans - just on a new timeline," she says. "Thanks to the Foundation, I know I have people - sisters - behind me that I've never even met, motivating me to stay focused on my goals."

Lauren's next surgery is scheduled for August 2010, when a plate will again be inserted to cover the hole the cyst and skull removal left behind. She plans to graduate in winter 2010 or spring 2011 with a degree in elementary education.

There are many ways to include the Foundation in your estate planning which are listed below:

Bequest
Made through a will or estate plan, a bequest is the most popular way donors choose to designate the Tri Delta Foundation as beneficiary of a specific dollar amount or piece of property, a percentage of an estate, or a residual gift.

Trust
A trust may be established under a will to provide for the Tri Delta Foundation and other beneficiaries.

Life Insurance
A donor may name the Tri Delta Foundation as the irrevocable beneficiary of a life insurance policy.

Gift Annuity
This agreement enables a donor to contribute cash or other assets while receiving income, capital gain and estate tax benefits. The annuity provides life income payments to the donor. Upon the donor's death, the Foundation may use the remaining principal for charitable purposes.

Charitable Remainder Trust
This vehicle offers a donor income, capital gain and estate tax benefits while creating a generous gift for the Foundation. Upon the donor's death, the Foundation receives the principal ("remainder") of the trust for use in charitable purposes.

  • Undergraduate scholarships
  • Graduate scholarships
  • Scholarship endowment
  • Education and Leadership Fund
  • Collegiate Crescent Fund
  • Crescent Fund
  • General/Operational Fund

Types of Gifts

  • Corporate Matching: Many employers will match all or part of donors' direct cash gifts to charitable organizations. Please ask your employer about this opportunity to double your gift. Complete and return the appropriate matching gift form(s) from your employer.

Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities - publicly traded stocks, mutual funds, Treasury Bills, notes and closely held stock - provide exceptional tax advantages for donors. These benefits often include exemptions from capital gains taxes and charitable deductions equal to the full market value of the security's appreciated value.

Donors contributing gifts of stock are asked to notify Cile Jolly at (817) 633-8001 or Bill Leonard of Wells Fargo, The Private Bank at (972) 419-3695. The following information is needed to facilitate the stock transfer to the Tri Delta Foundation:
