Kathy Castor Congresswoman

As a newly elected member of Congress, Life Loyal member Kathy Castor, Emory, knows a lot about possessing an unwavering purpose and dedication to integrity. Kathy represents the 11th Congressional District of Florida, which covers parts of Hillsborough, Pinellas and Manatee counties, and she is the first woman to hold this position. Today, Kathy serves on the powerful Rules and House Armed Services committees, and she was chosen for a leadership position in the steering and policy committee. These positions allow Kathy to work for the people of District 11 to solve issues that are most important to them, including health care, education, ethics and transportation. In addition to these platforms, Kathy is also known to champion the importance of a clean and healthy environment and responsible growth management. Over the years, Kathy has built a strong record on health care, working to stop seniors and other patients in Hillsborough County's health care plan from being forced into HMOs. Kathy was previously a Hillsborough County commissioner, representing District 1, which covered much of Florida's 11th Congressional District. Before joining the county commission, she worked as an attorney to enforce growth management laws.
