Reflections Grant Applications Due Friday!

Reflections: Body Image Program^TM is the first evidence-based peer-led body image education and eating disorder prevention program that has been repeatedly shown to work.  Tri Delta believes that its support of this ground-breaking program is an important step in confronting body image issues that affect all women. 

To date, 50 grants have been awarded to Tri Delta chapters nationwide to assist them in successfully implementing the program at the chapter level.  All Tri Delta chapters are eligible to apply for the Reflections  program; applications are due to Executive Office by April 9, 2010.  Chapters selected for the 2010-11 academic year will be notified no later than April 21, 2010.

The grant covers the following costs: the $485 registration fee (This fee includes two nights stay at the Academy hotel, the full meal package, all Academy-related program handouts and one facilitator manual) for the chapter's Body Image Coordinator and Lead Peer Facilitator to attend Body Image Academy, as well as all facilitator manuals and participant workbooks needed to implement for the 2010-11 year. The grant does not cover travel expenses, all participants will have to pay for their own airfare or gas expenses.

Chapters may also wish to seek additional support from a co-sponsor. Contact your University's Health Center, Counseling Services, or Greek Life Office to see if they would be interested in helping sponsor your chapter to implement the program. Community Health Centers and Eating Disorder Prevention Clinics are other great resources to use as potential co-sponsors. Chapters chosen for Reflections must implement the program during the 2010-2011 academic year.

To allow time for planning, we suggest scheduling the program between September and March. Please know that those who receive a grant are required to attend Body Image Academy in August 2010. In August 2010, Tri Delta will host two Body Image Academies the week of August 9^th, 2010. If awarded the grant, each chapter will be assigned to one of the August 2010 Body Image Academies.
