Tri Delta at Allegheny College

Tri Delta is pleased to announce it will open a new chapter at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

Tri Delta is pleased to announce it will open a new chapter at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.  Allegheny is a liberal arts college of 2100 whose students represent a variety of unique interests, skills and talents, and Tri Delta is excited to be a part of its progressive, inclusive atmosphere.

Allegheny is in synch with Tri Delta’s Purpose to develop the intellectual life of its members.  Students at Allegheny are dedicated to a rigorous liberal arts academic experience and hone their skills by engaging in the unique Junior Seminar and Senior Project. The student-driven Academic Honor Program promotes integrity and personal responsibility, and the Greek community’s academic performance is extremely impressive. “The opportunity to develop a chapter with students of this caliber was one Tri Delta could not miss,” says Fraternity President Michelle Popp Shimberg, Florida.

Above all, it is clear that Allegheny is devoted to advancing the fraternity and sorority experience on campus.  With 27 percent of Allegheny students being involved in fraternity/sorority life, nine international chapters on campus, and the desire to grow the community, the fraternity/sorority life on campus is overwhelmingly positive.

“The students, faculty and staff are outstanding,” says Michelle, “and with the students’ commitment to academic excellence, the diversity of the student body, and the growth and development of the college and its Greek life, Tri Delta will be right at home there.”

Tri Delta joins nine nationally affiliated social Greek-letter organizations active on campus, and about 25 percent of Allegheny students are members of a fraternity or sorority.  The fraternities recognized on campus are Delta Tau Delta, Phi Delta Theta, Phi Kappa Psi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Theta Chi.  The sororities recognized on campus are Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Delta Pi, Kappa Alpha Theta and Kappa Kappa Gamma.
