Tri Delta’s tradition of celebrating our collegiate members’ graduation and Circle Degree, the third and final degree of Initiation, dates as far back as 1908, when an article in a secret publication called The Triton, shared details about a “pansy luncheon,” hosted by alumnae chapters each spring.
Later, in 1927, the first official Pansy Breakfast was hosted by Theta Xi Chapter at the University of Southern California. The tradition quickly spread across the country, and was the topic of a LIFE Magazine photo essay in 1945.
It is the distinct privilege of our alumnae chapters to celebrate what we now refer to as “Pansy Brunch” and Circle Degree with our collegiate members. To assist you in your planning, we’ve compiled a collection of Pansy Brunch Resources, available for reference and download on My Tri Delta. Here you’ll find a planning guide, invitation and program templates, ceremony notes and information on how you can request a Tri Delta speaker or special guest.
We hope you find these resources useful as you celebrate with sisters this spring!
