2019 Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute
Education, Leadership, News | February 4, 2019

Now more than ever, the fraternal experience relies on brave, bold and kind leaders who are willing to advance their leadership potential to ensure we continue to provide a meaningful and memorable lifetime membership experience. In 2019, Tri Delta will provide the opportunity for members to attend the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI). UIFI offers members a unique experience to learn with and from their peers to identify the leader they want to be and where they can make the most impact.

UIFI, hosted by the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), is a five-day program that brings together fraternity and sorority members from across North America. The program provides opportunities for participants to explore, define and enhance their leadership skills, personal awareness and commitment to their organization.

UIFI includes multiple five-day sessions held in May, June and July. The institute is interactive, fun, challenging and intentional. Sessions include hands-on experiential activities, group discussions and personal reflection. At the end of the program, participants develop personal action plans and are challenged to make a commitment to values-based action and affecting positive change.

Hailey Nelson, Vermont, attended UIFI in 2018 and says the experience made her a better leader for her chapter. “[My group was] able to be vulnerable and honest with one another about the very real and trying challenges each of our chapters has faced and will continue to face. As leaders, we learned that the time is now and that we have to be accountable for ourselves and our organizations so that we can continue to exist across college campuses.”

At UIFI, you will discover the skills to improve your leadership abilities and positively affect your chapter, council and community. After Shannon Fonseca, Cal State/Northridge, attended UIFI last summer she said, “After arriving home from UIFI, I was armed with the tools I needed…I cannot thank Tri Delta enough for investing in me and allowing me to see Tri Delta’s Purpose in action.”

Each year, Tri Delta awards a limited number of scholarships to members to attend UIFI.

Submit your application by Monday, March 4 to be considered for the Eve Woods Riley UIFI Scholarship. Click here to access the application.
