Supporting a collegiate chapter is no easy feat, which is why this track is designed to help alumna advisors work smarter, not harder. Throughout each session, alumna advisors will explore the various support systems and resources available to make their roles easier. The track combines interactive activities, engaging discussions and research-based leadership theories to equip alumna advisors with the tools and resources they need to thrive in their roles.
Operations Advisor
The operations team is the glue of the chapter. The operations advisor (OA) is pivotal in mentoring the officer team, whose responsibilities impact all the other officers and the chapter’s experience. The OA track focuses on key opportunities like the collegiate chapter budget, the finance committee, slating, the selection committee, officer onboarding and the facility committee to mentor, monitor and model. Participants will engage in discussions and activities to learn about key resources, best practices and tools to succeed in their roles.
Recruitment & Retention Specialist
The recruitment and retention specialist (RS) is the go-to supporter for all things recruitment and retention. They know the ins and outs of creating and implementing successful recruitment processes and advocate for intentional retention efforts that help chapters thrive. The RS track focuses on the proactive approach of recruiting and retaining collegiate members through discussions focused on recruitment planning, using RFM and FFE data to drive decision-making, exploring the networks of perspectives that play different roles in recruitment and retention and exploring the unique qualities of both primary and year-round recruitment processes. Additionally, RSs will dive into different components of the collegiate membership experience that influence the retention of members.
Collegiate Chapter Specialist
The CCS provides support as an advisor, mentor and mediator to advisors and chapter leadership. Our CCSs ensure the overall success of advisors and chapters while serving as liaisons between the volunteer specialists, chapter advisors and assigned chapters. During this track, participants will acquire tools and strategies to develop trust with their AAs and establish expectations around communication, performance and more. In addition to supporting our AAs, the CCS plays a critical role in supporting collegiate chapters through various aspects of chapter life. Participants will also explore ways they support our collegiate chapters through Tri Delta’s Chapter Success Model and other areas, including slating, social event planning, member support committees and more. The track will conclude with opportunities to connect with staff and volunteer subject matter experts (SMEs) to brainstorm new ideas, ask questions, review key resources and more.
Local House Corporation Volunteer
Local house corporation volunteers serve as the foundation for establishing member belonging by turning a house into a Tri Delta home. This year at Volunteer Leadership Conference, housing volunteers will discover how the shift in competitive housing impacts the needs and desires of today’s college students and influences member recruitment. Participants will discuss streams of housing revenue and learn how to affirm that there is always enough funding to support ever-changing housing needs. Most importantly, participants will discuss how to create a home away from home, where every member feels like they belong, through the establishment of visitable and inclusive Tri Delta homes and spaces.
Financial Specialist
The financial specialist (FS) serves as a mentor in the operation of the collegiate finance team and advisors. The financial specialist track will include opportunities to explore the role of the financial specialist in supporting collegiate chapter excellence through financial operations. We will explore ways to support collegiate officers and advisors, as well as how to collaborate with other volunteers and staff through transparent and proactive communications, consistent budget implementation, monitoring and proactive action planning to assist chapters with improvements, transparency and best practices for communication in financial management.
