Wendi Wickland Davies, Maryland, has worn many hats throughout her Tri Delta journey. From serving as a chapter development consultant to working with emerging chapters for nearly a decade in her current role as recruitment and retention specialist, Wendi has dedicated her time and talent to shaping the future of our sisterhood. Professionally, she’s held leadership roles with Disney and Williams Sonoma, and today, she balances her career in visual merchandising with her commitment to Tri Delta.
At Convention 2024 in Orlando, Florida, Wendi was honored with the Collegiate Chapter Specialist Award for her dedication to and impact on Tri Delta.
What made you decide to volunteer for Tri Delta?
“This organization will give you everything you need if you let it. It’s about taking care of one another. Tri Delta has given me so much, and volunteering is my way of giving back. I believe the future of Tri Delta is what we do with our collegians, and that’s what drives me.”
What do you get most out of volunteering?
“I love recruitment—it’s where you can see the future of Tri Delta developing in front of you. I choose to work with collegians because our collegians need us now more than ever. The social pressures today are so different than when I was in school. For me, it’s about being there for them, supporting them and helping them find their voice.”
What is your most memorable experience as a volunteer?
“One of my favorite memories was working with Northwestern when they achieved quota and Total. They didn’t know how to be a chapter yet—they weren’t cohesive—but it was amazing to see the lightbulb turn on! Deep friendships began to form, they started hosting sisterhood events and you could see they weren’t just Tri Deltas—they were becoming a chapter. That’s when I knew we were doing something right.”
What advice do you have for other Tri Deltas thinking about volunteering?
“We are Tri Deltas! And we can do hard things. We have the tools to get things done, and when you stay committed, the reward is seeing our members thrive. My advice? Remember that Tri Delta is for a lifetime. Give back where you can, support one another and don’t underestimate the difference you can make. Volunteering is a love letter to perseverance, and the friendships you’ll build along the way are truly forever.”
Fun Fact:
“Tri Delta has been the recurring thread in my life. When my daughter, Meredith Davies, Rhodes—who now serves on Tri Delta’s Executive Office staff as brand support manager, partnerships—got engaged, the first person I called was my Tri Delta roommate!”
