Guided by Our Purpose
The Purpose of Delta Delta Delta shall be to establish a perpetual bond of friendship among its members, to develop a stronger and more womanly character, to broaden the moral and intellectual life, and to assist its members in every possible way.
It shall also be the Purpose of Delta Delta Delta to promote and develop mutually beneficial relationships between the Fraternity and the colleges and universities where the Fraternity has established chapters, to develop qualities of unselfish leadership among its members, and to encourage them to assume, with integrity and devotion to moral and democratic principles, the highest responsibilities of college women.
Tri Delta’s values as an organization have always been tied to our commitment to giving back to our communities and the people around us. One way we do this is through the Tri Delta Foundation which raises, manages and awards funds to provide undergraduate and graduate scholarships, assist alumnae and collegiate members in dire financial need, and support the Fraternity’s innovative educational and leadership programs. In the early 1970s Tri Delta chose children’s cancer charities as its philanthropy, and in 1999, we named St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as our philanthropic partner. Since then, our members have raised more than $38 million for the cause and have donated thousands of hours of service. In 2014, Tri Delta committed to raising $60 million in 10 years for St. Jude — the single largest fundraising commitment in the hospital’s history.
