SERVING AS A VOTING DELEGATE
Collegiate and alumnae chapters presidents serve as their chapter’s voting delegate and the official voice of their chapter’s members at Convention. If the president is not able to attend Convention, an alternate must be selected. Collegiate chapters are required to send a delegate to Convention. Alumnae chapters are highly encouraged to send a representative.
Serving as a delegate is a very important role that will require your attention. Delegates are expected to participate in one of two Bylaws Town Halls, attend chapter leader training in Orlando on Thursday, July 11 beginning at 9:00 a.m. and participate in the Business Meeting Orientation on Thursday afternoon.

COMPLETING A CREDENTIALS FORM
An official Credentials Form must be received for your chapter’s voting delegate to be considered confirmed. Chapter presidents—alumnae and collegiate—are the only members who can sign this form and designate who will be serving as the voice for their chapter during Fraternity business sessions.

- If the chapter president is participating in Convention as the voting delegate, they should list their name as the “official voting delegate” and sign the bottom of the form.
- If the chapter president is not able to participate and an alternate is selected, the chapter president should list the alternate’s name as the “official alternate delegate” and sign the bottom of the form.
- If the chapter president AND an alternate are participating in Convention, then the chapter president’s name should be listed as the “official voting delegate” and the second attendee could be listed as the “official alternate delegate.” This will let us know that two chapter members are attending and, if for some reason the president is unable to be present during Fraternity business meetings, the alternate has already been chosen and approved by the chapter. Keep in mind that only one person is able to vote per chapter.
- Alternate delegates must be members in good standing with the Fraternity.
- For alumnae chapters: In accordance with Fraternity Bylaws, each alumnae chapter must have paid dues and fees in full to send a voting delegate to Convention. All dues and fees must be paid by May 23. The voting delegate must also have paid Fraternity dues or be a Life Loyal Member.
