Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delta) Privacy Notice

1. Who we are and what this Notice covers
This Privacy Notice is published by Delta Delta Delta, an Illinois nonprofit corporation (“the Fraternity,” “Tri Delta,” “we,” or “us”). It describes how we handle personal information collected through tridelta.org and through the email and text message communications we send.
Tri Delta is a family of related but separate organizations:
Delta Delta Delta Fraternity is a membership organization that provides leadership development and educational programming for its collegiate and alumnae members.
Delta Delta Delta Foundation raises and grants funds for leadership programs, scholarships, and emergency assistance.
Tri Delta Housing, Inc. supports chapter housing.
Delta Delta Delta Park Street Properties, LLC employs the staff who work in Tri Delta houses and provides property management services.
This Notice is published by the Fraternity. Information about how these organizations handle personal information will be published separately.
This Notice does not cover employees and job applicants, websites operated by third parties that we link to, or platforms operated independently by members, chapters and house corporations.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you join, register for an event, submit a reference or an interest form, volunteer, or contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, contact details, college or university, chapter, and the details needed for the activity you are taking part in. Some members also choose to share information about themselves so that we can build an inclusive organization and provide support; sharing that information is voluntary.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website or open our emails, we and our service providers collect information about your device and how you use our services, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and links clicked, using cookies and similar technologies. Our email platform can associate this activity with your email address once you have clicked a link in a Tri Delta email or submitted a form.
Information from others
We receive information about members and prospective members from chapters, from references, and from colleges and universities.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to process membership and maintain membership records; to solicit donations; to communicate with you about Tri Delta programs, events, and news; to provide leadership and educational programs; to administer events; to provide support you have requested; to understand how our website and communications are used; to protect the safety of members and the security of our systems; and to comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We share personal information with the related Tri Delta organizations described in section 1 for the purposes described in this Notice; with collegiate or alumnae chapters; with service providers that process information on our behalf, such as providers of membership management, email and text messaging, online giving, learning platforms, and cloud storage; with colleges and universities and the National Panhellenic Conference as required by our relationships with them; with affinity marketing groups that offer licensed Tri Delta products, with other members through an online information portal known as MyTriDelta; and when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tri Delta, our members, or others. We share personal information only as described in this section.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, to understand how it is used, and, through our email platform, to understand engagement with our communications. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
6. Your choices
You may opt out of promotional email by using the unsubscribe link in any such message or by contacting us. You will continue to receive messages needed to administer your membership, such as dues notices and event confirmations.
Text messages
You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message or by contacting us. Message and data rates may apply.
Your information
Members can review and update their contact and profile information by signing in to MyTriDelta. Members can also elect to remove the ability for other members to access their contact information in the online directory known as Sister Search. For anything you cannot change yourself, contact us to request those changes.
7. Requests about your information
You may contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will respond to your request in accordance with applicable law. Some information, such as the record of your membership in the Fraternity, may be retained where the law allows.
8. Members and prospective members under 18
Membership is extended on an invitation-only basis, and our services are designed for adults and college students. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Parents and guardians of a member under 18 may contact us with questions about the information we hold.
9. How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your account or information has been compromised, please contact us.
10. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Notice and to meet legal obligations. Records of membership in the Fraternity are maintained as part of its permanent history.
11. Residents of Canada
If you reside in Canada, Canadian federal privacy law applies to our handling of your personal information. You may request access to or correction of your information by contacting us. Your information is stored and processed in the United States.
12. Changes to this Notice and how to contact us
When we change this Notice, we update the effective date at the top.
