Summer in a Tri Delta facility isn’t as quiet as you might think. While our chapter homes are less busy with members home for the summer, they’re anything but empty! The few months of break are when Tri Delta Housing projects come to life, from renovations and repairs to new furnishings and finishing touches—all with the goal of creating safe, welcoming spaces for members to return to in the fall.
Working alongside the professionals with Tri Delta Housing, select interns spend their summer preparing our chapter homes for another incredible year. Meet Tri Delta Housing’s 2026 interns who helped make it all happen.
Elliot Blankenship, Oklahoma State
Major: Interior Design
Hometown: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Elliot first learned about the Tri Delta Housing internship after seeing an Instagram post during her freshman year and knew she wanted to apply later in her college career. Drawn by the opportunity to travel and experience the unique personality of each Tri Delta chapter home, she quickly discovered just how much thought and care go into creating spaces for members. One of Elliot’s favorite memories was the Texas A&M install, where the entire Housing team worked together, making the project both productive and unforgettable while strengthening friendships with her fellow interns.
“I had such a great time on all my trips, but the Texas A&M install was so memorable because the whole team was there. Getting to work as one unit made everything efficient and fun. Bonding with my fellow interns on that trip was unlike anything else and really highlighted the true bond of sisterhood.”
Fun Fact: “I love all things arts and crafts! Having a creative outlet is so important to me!”
Abby Landry, Louisiana/Lafayette
Major: Interior Design
Hometown: Lafayette, Louisiana
Abby spent her second summer in a row as a Tri Delta Housing intern, having first applied to gain experience beyond the classroom and to see how interior design comes to life through large-scale housing projects. Over the past two summers, she’s learned how much planning and teamwork go into every project and has enjoyed seeing the work that goes on behind the scenes. One of the biggest things she’s taken away from the experience is the confidence to step outside of her comfort zone and trust herself in new situations. She’s also built friendships with Tri Deltas from across North America who share her passion for design. After graduation, Abby hopes to work in residential interior design.
“Some of my favorite parts of this internship have been getting a behind-the-scenes look at the planning and execution of large-scale interior design projects and building friendships with incredible women along the way. Every trip has been a new experience, and I’m so grateful for the learning opportunities that have come from it.”
Fun Fact: Abby is an animal lover (cats, sea lions, rabbits and otters), enjoys baking and could eat sushi for every meal.
Sophia Richmond, Oklahoma
Major: Interior Design and Architecture
Hometown: Dallas, Texas
Sophia brought her passion for interior design and architecture to every summer project—excited to learn more about the design and planning that go into creating spaces where Tri Delta members live, connect and make memories. She said meeting other Tri Deltas with similar passions and gaining hands-on experience that will help shape her future in design made this summer that much more meaningful!
“After college, I hope to pursue a career in both residential and commercial design.”
Fun Fact: “As a Dallas native, I love food and know a thing or two about good Tex-Mex!”
Violet Strand, Kansas
Major: Architecture
Hometown: Greenwood Village, Colorado
Violet discovered the internship opportunity with Tri Delta Housing through social media and applied just in time for the summer 2026 role. As an architecture major, she was excited for the opportunity to travel to chapter facilities, gain hands-on experience and add a unique project to her resume early in her college career. Throughout the summer, she learned the behind-the-scenes work that goes into chapter house installations. Some of Violet’s favorite memories came from the connections she made along the way, especially with fellow interns who quickly became friends and shared the experience with her from project to project.
“The most impactful thing I learned during my internship is about the structure of an install. I learned how to structure each day and stay on task, how much time it takes for an install to come together and how to work with others in a professional setting.”
Fun Fact: “When I was in fourth grade, I was chasing a rubber chicken, and I broke out my two front teeth, leading to numerous dental surgeries, multiple tooth reconstructions, root canals and more. But now, I am so grateful for my brand-new teeth!”
Alexis Walker, Florida
Major: Health Science
Hometown: Clermont, Florida
After hearing about the opportunity from her advisor, who knew of her interest in interior design and antiques, Alexis was excited for the chance to contribute in a completely unexpected way to an organization she loves. As a health science major, the internship allowed her to explore a creative passion while discovering just how much she enjoys the design process, from seeing plans come together to experiencing the finished spaces firsthand. She also cherished the opportunity to meet Tri Deltas from other chapters and learn more about herself along the way.
“What made me so excited to apply was the opportunity to contribute to an organization I love in a way I would have never dreamed of as a health science major. This internship taught me how much I truly love the design process, and I’m so grateful for everything it taught me about myself.”
Fun Fact: “I aspire to become a dermatologist and incorporate my passion for design by specializing in patient-centered clinic design. I enjoy antiquing, snorkeling and anything else on the water.”
Addie Zoellner, Kentucky
Majors: Marketing and Integrated Strategic Communications
Hometown: Bowling Green, Kentucky
Addie learned about the internship through LinkedIn and was immediately excited to apply because of her longtime passion for interior design. In fact, her roommates still joke that it’s not too late for her to switch her major, even with only one year left!
Throughout the internship, Addie learned how small details can completely change a space. During her first install at the University of Virginia, she helped rearrange furniture to make the living space more welcoming and enjoyable for members. She quickly saw how adding simple touches, like new pillows and decorations, could make a big difference. One of her favorite parts of the experience was meeting the other interns. Addie never expected Tri Delta to give her even more friendships than she already had, but she quickly realized she was wrong.
“I couldn’t believe Tri Delta offered an experience like this and couldn’t wait to learn more about it. Being able to transform the spaces where members spend some of the most influential years of their lives was something I was so excited to be a part of.”
Fun Fact: “I am the collegiate chapter president of Delta Rho Chapter! I am so lucky to spend my last year serving the place that gave so much to me.”
