It is the distinct privilege of our alumnae chapters to celebrate Circle Degree and a Pansy Celebration with our collegiate members.

A Tri Delta Tradition

Celebrating our collegiate members’ graduation and Circle Degree, the third and final degree of Initiation, dates as far back as 1908, when an article in a secret publication called The Triton shared details about a “pansy luncheon,” hosted by alumnae chapters each spring.

Later, in 1927, the first official Pansy Breakfast was hosted by Theta Xi Chapter at the University of Southern California. The tradition quickly spread across the country and was the topic of a LIFE Magazine photo essay in 1945.

Pansy Celebration Resources

To assist you in planning your special event, we’ve compiled a Pansy Celebration Resource Kit, available in the Resource Library > Alumnae Chapter > Events > Pansy Celebration. Here you’ll find everything you need in one document: a planning guide, invitation and program templates, ceremony notes, Tri Delta related updates and information on how you can request a speaker.

Share your Event

Hosting a Pansy Celebration or Circle Degree? Submit your event in TriConnect (Programming > Actions > Celebrations > Pansy Celebration) to be posted on this page so local sisters can attend your event. After your event, share your stories with us to be featured on Tri Delta’s social media or potentially published in The Trident. For questions or assistance, please contact alumnae@trideltaeo.org.

Thank you for helping our collegiate members transition in to their lifetime membership of Tri Delta this spring!
