June 3, 2026
News, Sisterhood

ARIZONA

The Phoenix Valley Alumnae Chapter hosted a memorable Pansy Brunch, which celebrated sisterhood, welcomed a wonderful new member and honored Silver Circle sisters and their 25 years of membership. They also shared meaningful updates from across the chapter and the Fraternity, including excitement for the reopening of Tri Delta’s Phi Beta Chapter at the University of Arizona this fall.

The Marin County Alumnae Chapter celebrated the bonds of sisterhood at their annual Pansy Brunch. In addition to sharing wonderful food, they discussed the impact of Tri Delta on their lives and ways to continue supporting each other through a lifetime of membership. They also explored new ways to embrace Tri Delta’s values and apply them to the future of the chapter.

The San Fernando Valley Alumnae Chapter hosted a philanthropy event to make 150 activity packets for the patients and their siblings at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Members gathered at a sister’s home and created an assembly line to fill the packets, which consisted of a coloring book, crayons or markers, stickers and Play-Doh. All supplies were purchased with donations made by chapter members.

The San Jose Alumnae Chapter collected 130 new books from its members to donate to the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University. Five members presented the books to the hospital and were given an impressive and inspiring tour of the facility.

Birthday fun was on the agenda for the Sarasota Area Alumnae Chapter! At their February Book Group meeting, members gathered for a wonderful double milestone celebration honoring Susan Duffy Cruzan, Maryland, who turned 70, and Bobbie Blackburn Muenzmay, Pittsburgh, who turned 90. The two were honored with birthday cake, brownies, decorations and gifts.

They also honored Annadele Ferguson Jackson, Cornell, who received her Diamond Circle badge at the Sarasota Area Alumnae Chapter’s Pansy Lunch as part of a fun celebration that also honored eight Golden Circle members.

Annadele has been an Active member of the chapter for more than 30 years. From 1997 to 1999, she served as alumnae chapter president, among other offices and committees. Currently, she hosts the chapter’s book group at her retirement community. “Annadele Jackson’s Tri Delta Book Club” meets monthly to discuss books, have lunch and enjoy sisterhood. The group also celebrated Annadele’s 94th birthday in March.

At Pansy Lunch, Annadele shared the stage with guest speaker Delilah Wallenda Troffer, a member of the Flying Wallendas of circus hirewire fame. She is also the mother of Nik Wallenda, who crossed Niagara Falls on a tightrope as a TV audience of millions watched.

MISSISSIPPI

The Hattiesburg Alumnae Chapter celebrated Phi Epsilon Chapter’s 75th anniversary Founders’ Day Celebration at the University of Southern Mississippi. The milestone event featured a reunion of alumnae at the University President’s Home and a Sisterhood Brunch with alumnae and collegiate members, highlighting the chapter’s legacy at Southern Miss. Attendees shared memories, recognized distinguished alumnae and reflected on the organization’s long-standing commitment to scholarship, philanthropy and lifelong friendship. In honor of the 75th anniversary, Phi Epsilon members are establishing the Wiggie O’Keefe Scholarship Endowment, which will provide academic support to Tri Deltas for years to come through the USM Foundation.

NEW YORK

The New York City Alumnae Chapter started a new event, cleverly called “Sister Soirees.” These fun-filled, formal-agenda-free events offer sisters in the area an opportunity to connect in a more intimate, in-person setting. These events have been well attended and a low-lift way to spend time together while not just working but also building the bonds of friendship.

NORTH CAROLINA

The Charlotte Alumnae Chapter hosted ReaDDD Between the Wines book club in February via Zoom to discuss “An Unfinished Love Story: A Personal History of the 1960s” by bestselling author Doris Kearns Goodwin, Colby. Four Tri Deltas on the call attended college during the 1960s, and it was fascinating to hear their reflections on living through this tumultuous and transformative decade. Especially poignant was hearing Diane Petersen, Ohio Wesleyan, share her personal story of being the first woman of color initiated into Tri Delta. Currently, Diane serves Tri Delta as the Chair of our Foundation Board of Trustees, and although she lives in Arizona, she regularly joins the book club discussions via Zoom. In addition, sisters who live in California, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee have joined the book club meetings, where members frequently speak with authors.

WASHINGTON

Tri Delta alumnae of the University of Puget Sound celebrated a Decade of Deltas with a Golden Circle ceremony and a reunion! More than 70 past members of Phi Zeta Chapter celebrated 50 years of friendship in Gig Harbor, Washington, in the summer and fall of 2025. Members traveled from nine states (from as far away as Maryland!) to share lunch, exchange memories and take part in the Golden Circle ceremony. The two reunions echoed with laughter as friends reconnected, pored over scrapbooks and enlivened conversations with “Remember when …” stories. Between the two reunions, more than 30 members became Golden Circle members, renewing a friendship forged more than five decades ago. Each person in the two pictures was on campus and part of the chapter during some portion of the 1970s (thus, a decade of Deltas!).
